Illegal gambling in the senior center? Bingo is cancelled for the time being

A senior citizens’ center in poland has temporarily suspended its weekly bingo game because it may be illegal. According to their own statements, the social enterprises in koln were made aware of the impending conflict with the law last year. "When money is wagered on a bingo game, it may fall under the gambling treaty", said managing director gabriele patzke on monday. "We ourselves were completely stunned that we, as an institution for the elderly, might be running an illegal game of chance."

Curious accident: car driver takes off, flies into house wall and gets stuck on the second floor
according to the senior center, the weekly game had always been attended by about 100 seniors in a coarse hall. Those who wanted to participate had to draw a card for 50 cents to one euro. The money was used to fund small prizes, such as chocolate.

The problem

In the opinion of the legal experts, this may have fulfilled the criteria of the state treaty on gambling. Because the seniors bet their own money and the game was basically public. Pending clarification, bingo was therefore suspended in december.
But the break should soon be over. According to its own statements, the senior center has put everything in place as quickly as possible to obtain the necessary approval. There were already new bingo dates.
