Survey: union loses slightly at high level

For the union, the upswing in opinion polls in recent weeks has not been sustained in the "insa opinion trend. In a poll commissioned by the "bild" newspaper, the CDU and CSU together lose half a percentage point compared to the previous week and now stand at 37.5 percent.

Compared with the beginning of the year, this is still a high figure – against the backdrop of the corona crisis, the union had made strong gains in the sunday polls of various institutes in recent weeks. The head of the insa opinion research institute, hermann blinkert, said according to "bild": "for the first time in eight weeks, the union is losing votes."

The greens lose two points in the poll and come in at 16 percent – putting them on a par with the SPD, which remains unchanged compared to the previous week. The FDP made the strongest gains in the survey, moving up 1.5 points to seven percent. The afd gains half a point to 10.5 percent, and the left also rises half a point to 7.5 percent. According to the survey, both the governing coalition of the union and the SPD and a black-green coalition had a majority.
