Martin kaiser wants to become mayor
The local association of the free voters neuenmarkt-hegnabrunn sends with martin kaiser its own mayoral candidate for the municipal elections on 16 march 2014. March 2014 in the race. Mr. Kaiser, what made you decide to run for this office as a young citizen of the community??
Martin kaiser: for me it is almost a duty to be politically active, since the free elections, the democratic form of law and the constitutional state are the product of the free elections of innumerable efforts, which only becomes alive through active participation. I would also like to send a signal that the younger generation is willing to take on responsibility in political office.
You are still considered a greenhorn in local politics. Do you see this as a disadvantage for your candidacy??
On the contrary, I see this as a great opportunity for a "new dawn" in the market to initiate. A break from ideologies and entrenched structures. Projects must be based on the principle: does this bring the community of neuenmarkt forward?? Be integrated into the coordination process.
If you are elected mayor, where do you want to set your priorities??
I want to focus very clearly on the development of neuenmarkt. The conditions of the community and the resulting opportunities are good, you just have to realize them. Another focus will be the planning security of the citizens. Everyone should know what investments will be needed in the coming years and what burdens may be placed on them. It is easier for everyone if they are informed in good time about the tasks they will have to perform. The voice of the municipality of neuenmarkt in the district, county and country is also to become a louder one, because the development of the municipality also depends on the implementation in the individual committees.
What is very important to you personally?
Working with young people in politics. Young people need to be made more interested in politics so that they are willing to get involved.
How do you think the cooperation between the mayor and the town council should proceed??
If you look at municipal politics with its elementary pillars of council, mayor and administration from a fundamental point of view, you will see that the council, which is supposed to reflect the population, together with the mayor and the administration, is the think tank of a municipality. I see here the role of the mayor, besides the representative tasks, also as a collector of ideas and as an executive body of the tasks imposed on him by the common council.
It looks like there will be several candidates for mayor in the municipal elections in march next year. What kind of election campaign, or better: election advertising, are you aiming for??
In addition to the classic means such as billposting, flyers& co. I would like to emphasize a very important pillar of the electoral campaign, namely the presence and proximity to the citizens. For this purpose, the free voters have created a citizens’ table every last thursday of the month in the ESV-sport home, where everyone is welcome. There we discuss topics and would like to show that politics is very close and uncomplicated. I believe that only through personal speech is it possible to authentically communicate one’s values. Finally, I would like to encourage every eligible voter: go to the polls. Have a say in how the community goes into the future.
