Internet woman of the first hour said goodbye

"It is my special pleasure today to honor ruth wintzheimer", said markt einersheim’s mayor herbert volkamer at the year-end dinner for the community’s employees and supporters. "She was the woman of the first hour for the internet appearance of our municipality and i was glad to have her at my side for the municipality homepage", he praised.

After the turn of the millennium, ruth wintzheimer had spent half a year attending a technical academy for media design full time and had set up her own business as a web designer. She also created websites for companies and in the village, as well as for the protestant deanery and the kindergarten. In 2003, she began to work on a volunteer basis to create a community website.

16 years of volunteerism

"I had to follow a lot of people to collect material", recalled the now 67-year-old. "It took me 170 hours of full-time work to set up the site", paid ruth wintzheimer. She assured to have done the work for the community with pleasure and when a company had recently launched a completely new homepage, she saw the right time to end her voluntary work after 16 years. The mayor honored her and thanked her with flowers.

Herbert volkamer buried the many full-time and volunteer employees of the municipality that evening. About 60 people have been supporting the community year-round and doing their part to make the village community work. The largest group is the swimming pool supervision team, indispensable for the mayor are the ladies and gentlemen of the administration community as well as the employees of the building yard.

Thanks for intensive work

Some maintain or dig grass, others film or photograph for the municipality and still others provide container service. People in the elementary school, lunchtime supervision, kindergarten, the bookshop, the youth center and the terraced pool are at the service of the community. Good services do the countrywomen, the hikers and the tourism representative karin gamm. The evening at the winery gamm was, according to the mayor, to thank the many people for their efforts throughout the year. Deputy mayor gerd fuchs also praised the energy of herbert volkamer, who coordinates everything and is a committed leader of the community.
